Does citronella actually repel mosquitoes?
Citronella does a fantastic job of repelling mosquitoes, but it’s just one ingredient in the Good Riddance formula.
Mosquitoes tend to think humans taste pretty delicious, so citronella works by masking this scent and making us less appealing. By itself, it prevents about 50% of mozzie bites and needs reapplying every 2 hours.
It’s a great, natural repellent that’s been used for years and most outdoor tables in Australia have a citronella candle in pride of place. But we thought we could do better!
The repellent Jeannie developed combines citronella with lemon tea tree to give you even more protection – together these active ingredients make a really effective, natural insect repellent. Even better, the creamy formulation contains shea butter and beeswax to prevent the essential oils from evaporating so quickly, meaning you only need to reapply every 4-5 hours.
Now that’s what you get when you have a qualified Cosmetic Chemist at the helm, developing insect repellent that’s legendary enough to be registered with the APVMA!
