"I needed to create a better repellent"
I’m Jeannie, and I created Good Riddance for my family while living in Darwin on our travels around Australia.

Living in Darwin, my two young boys were constantly eaten alive by mozzies, so applying repellent was a daily must.
I decided to ditch the DEET after being shocked by the WARNING label on my repellent and started my search for a safer option.

But, I was let down by every natural repellent as theysimply didn’t work for us in the tropics.
Determined to do something about it, I spent 2 years studying cosmetic chemistry & aromatherapy.

2011
In 2011, I completed a Diploma in Personal Care Formulation and started to create a safe and effective repellent.
I spent 2 years trialing my formulas with local fishermen in the most mozzie and midge-prone areas of the Top End, including Kakadu.
Good Riddance Begins
After 37 formulas, I finally perfected a natural repellent that
really worked, was apleasure to use, and was safe for
our kids & the planet. Good Riddance was born…

My husband Sean and I launched Good Riddance Insect Repellents at the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets in Darwinin 2014.
Our sales quickly grew through word of mouth. We built an online store, scaled up our manufacturing capacity and now have over 900 stockists around Australia.
Our two natural insect repellents provide long lasting protection, smell amazing, and feel nice on your skin, even in the tropics.

2018
In 2018, our doors shut and we underwent 2 years of clinical trials to prove Good Riddance actually worked.

After 2 years of extensive clinical trials, both of our repellents passed the tests, confirming their efficacy, safety and shelf-life. This meant, Good Riddance Repellents were successfully registered as ‘insectrepellent’ by the APVMA, Australia’s Regulator.
I am very proud to say that Good Riddance Insect Repellents stand up to any other DEET-filled repellents on the market.

2020
The Good Riddance journey is interwoven with a deep commitment to preserving the environment and its inhabitants.
In 2020 we joined forces with 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate 1% of all sales to the AustralianWildlife Conservancy.
We have proudly donated $52,000 to date. This contribution fosters conservation efforts, safeguarding Australia’s unique biodiversity.
