Meet The Founder

“Living in Darwin, I hated spraying heavy duty insect repellent all over myself and my kids every day.

I decided to ditch the DEET, but every natural option wouldn't work for my family.

Determined for better, I studied cosmetic chemistry for 2 years. I spent another 2 years testing my formulas with Kakadu fishermen in Australia's toughest climates.

After 37 formulas, I finally created two 100% natural repellents that actually work.

Today, we're a family business with a clear mission: help every Aussie reconnect with the outdoors, naturally."

Jeannie Lynch

Everything You Should Know

  • Still Skeptical?
  • Mosquito Borne Viruses
  • Dangers of DEET

Trusting another repellent can be daunting. Jeannie, our founder, felt the same. So, we’ve taken the stress out of trying Good Riddance.

  • Developed in Darwin. Tested in Kakadu

Living in Darwin, Jeannie used the Top End's extreme mosquito, midge and sandfly conditions to perfect the Good Riddance formula. Her logic was simple – if it works against Darwin's relentless insects, it will work anywhere.

  • APVMA Clinical Trials & Approval

Unlike most natural options, Good Riddance is clinically proven to work. After years of success with Darwin locals, we took the next step – official testing with Australia's repellent regulator, the APVMA. Two years of rigorous lab and field trials later, our formula earned full approval for effectively repelling mosquitoes, sandflies and midges. No more wondering if natural protection will actually work – Good Riddance is officially proven and backed by science.

  • Protecting Aussies for 10+ Years

Good Riddance has stood the test of time. For over a decade, thousands of Australians have trusted our repellents to protect their families. Ten years on the market proves one thing – our formula works.

  • 100% Customer Happiness Guarantee

Still not convinced? There's zero risk in trying Good Riddance. If our repellents don't work for you, we’ll provide you with a full refund + a free Rescue Balm for bite relief! But after thousands of happy customers, we're confident you'll love it too.

  • Do Good Riddance repellents repel mosquitoes, midges & sandflies that carry diseases?

Mosquitoes can carry diseases like Ross River virus and Dengue fever - which can have detrimental impacts on your health. But, not all insect repellents are proven to protect against these disease carrying mosquitoes.

Good Riddance Insect Repellents have passed specific clinical testing on its efficacy against disease carrying mosquitoes by the APVMA - Australia’s government body for insect repellents. Both repellents are proven to effectively repel mosquitoes, midges and sandflies, including those that carry Ross River and Dengue viruses.

  • Where are these mosquito-borne diseases?

Ross River virus is the most common mosquito-borne disease in Australia, found most commonly in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Dengue fever is most commonly found in places like Bali - Indonesia, Asia, Africa and South America.

You shouldn’t risk it - Choose Good Riddance to keep your family naturally protected from disease carrying mosquitoes.

This is the DEET warning found on most insect repellents on store shelves. Once Jeannie had realised what it said, it ignited her journey to create 100% natural repellents just as effective as DEET, just without the warning.

  • DEET's Warning

DEET may be dangerous, particularly to children, if used in large amounts on the skin, clothes, bedding or on large areas of the body, especially if you keep using it for a long time. According to the DEET WARNING on insect repellents.

Unlike Jeannie who couldn’t find a natural alternative for her family, I was able to hop on line and found the one that Jeannie and her family made, putting in all the hard effort, blood, sweat and tears!! So thankful 🙏🏽🙌🫶🏼

My friends know I’m so natural minded, so they ask me what do I use and I always sing the praises of Good Riddance. I tell them that it not only keeps the nasties away, it’s natural and nourishing rather than being so harmful 🥰🌿it’s the best natural product we’ve found to work for midges too!! And it’s perfect to apply to bites already received if you didn’t get to the Good Riddance in time!! 😬We keep it out on the deck available for all to use, so it always comes up in conversation when folks are over ☺️

No more disturbances at night from that one annoying mosquito that always keeps us awake and makes hubby angry. My sensitive smell is not offended by your product.

Try it out. It's amazing and smells good too. My favorite is the sensitive formulation.

I’m happy to apply Good Riddance before I go outside in areas I know I’ll be attacked by mozzies and midgies. It applies easily, feels nice on my skin and is so effective. The ‘social bonus’ of Good Riddance is that it also smells fantastic … at BBQ’s I get told I smell great and am then asked what cologne I’m using :)

If you don’t want to feel like you have to wear long sleeves and pants in summer and don’t want to use chemicals on your skin, try this! It works and smells great. It’s easy to get online or at a local market.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Good Riddance
  • Ordering Questions
  • Other
  • Tropical vs Sensitive - which one should I get?

Both formulas are equally effective at repelling insects. The main differences are in scent, feel, and who can use them. Good Riddance Sensitive is best for babies (3+ months), children, pregnant women, and sensitive skin. It has a gentler scent and slightly thicker cream. It works exceptionally well against midges and sandflies. Good Riddance Tropical is best for ages 2 years and older. It has a stronger lemon-citrus scent and lighter cream texture. It is slightly more effective against mosquitoes. Still unsure? Our Adventure Pack includes both formulas so you can discover which scent and feel you prefer. Most customers have a clear favorite after trying both!

  • Is it safe for pregnancy & babies?

Good Riddance Sensitive is specially formulated for pregnancy and babies (3+ months old). Many expectant and new mothers love and trust our Sensitive formula because it's gentle yet effective. However, we do recommend consulting a GP/health care professional during pregnancy as everyone and every pregnancy journey is unique. We also recommend a 24 hour patch test before first use.

  • How long does it work for?

Both of our Good Riddance insect repellents work for up to 4 hours. The shelf life of our Good Riddance insect repellents is 2 years from date of manufacture. All repellents will come with an expiry date in the crimp of the tubes, or under each 500ml bottle.

  • Can I buy it in-store?

Yes! We are stocked by over 1200 stores around Australia, making it easy to refill or grab while you're on the go. Head to our 'find a store' page to find your closest stockist.

  • How long does it take to ship?

Orders before 2pm will be shipped the same day! For peak periods or during a sale, we aim for same day shipping, but could take 2-3 days before shipped.

  • How much is postage?

To work out your shipping cost, just add the products you wish to purchase into your cart on our website, then enter your address in your cart to automatically calculate your shipping costs. Postage is worked out based on the weight of your order. Spend $79+ to receive free express shipping in Australia.

  • Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship orders to many countries. To work out the shipping cost, select your chosen products and enter your address in the ‘Estimate Shipping’ area on the cart page. Click ‘Get a Quote’ and the freight options and costs should then be displayed.

• Can I use it with sunscreen?

Good Riddance does not interact with sunscreens. We recommend applying sunscreen first and then the Good Riddance over the top.

  • Is Good Riddance Safe for Pets?

Our Good Riddance insect repellent range does NOT contain Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea Tree) oil, which is not recommended for use around dogs. Instead, it contains Lemon Scented Tea Tree, derived from a different plant species, which does not have the same adverse effects on dogs. Many of our customers use our Tropical repellent on their dogs to repel mosquitoes, midges, or sandflies by applying a small amount behind their ears and on their undercarriage, which is the main area where dogs are bitten. For dogs with particularly sensitive skin, we recommend using the Sensitive repellent, as it contains less-irritating essential oils suitable for sensitive skin. The Rescue Balm can also be used as a spot treatment on dogs to help relieve itch and inflammation caused by insect bites. We have received glowing reviews about the effectiveness of our range for dogs, and it has been stocked by a pet store in Darwin called “Aussie Pooch” for nearly five years without any adverse reactions.

  • Do you test your products on animals?

We are passionate advocates for animal protection and only include ingredients certified by Choose Cruelty Free to guarantee that our ingredients have never been tested on animals. The Good Riddance Tropical and Sensitive Insect Repellents have both undergone clinical and field trials where they were tested (on humans) to see if they repel mosquitoes and midges. We also test our repellents on mozzies, midges & sandflies (to determine its efficacy), and unfortunately they classify these as testing on animals. Otherwise, no.

  • Why do insect repellents need to be registered by the APVMA?

In Australia, all insect repellents must be approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). The APVMA is an Australian government regulatory body who manage the registration of all agricultural and veterinary chemical products in Australia. All insect repellents for human use, including chemical-based products and natural plant-based alternatives, like Good Riddance, are required by law to be registered with the APVMA before they can be sold in Australia. Products approved by the APVMA have been scientifically assessed as safe and effective.
